Liverpool are running out of time to make new additions to their squad, with the summer transfer window already well underway.
Arne Slot has identified a new number six, with the new Liverpool manager looking to bolster his midfield ahead of the new season.
The Reds are yet to bring in any players this summer, with Slot having assessed his squad in the USA pre-season tour.
Liverpool have now returned from that trip, with two more friendly clashes scheduled before the Premier League starts.
Slot’s side will welcome Spanish clubs Sevilla and Las Palmas to Anfield, before travelling to Ipswich Town in league action.

The journalist noted that talks will follow between the clubs and on the side of the player, who has a €60million (£51.5million) release clause in his contract.

Former star Fabinho certainly was, as was recent midfielder Thiago, but he has since retired after leaving Liverpool earlier this summer.
Slot would be foolish to disrupt the close-knit squad that was built by Jurgen Klopp, meaning only hugely talented players should be considered.
But with La Liga and Champions League experience, along with 10 Spain caps, Zubimendi looks likely of being a very smart signing.
