Liverpool have reportedly rejected a transfer offer from a UEFA Champions League side for a player who is rumoured to be available this summer for £20m.
The Reds have been subject to few offers for players this transfer window, with Leicester City planning a loan offer for Ben Doak, as Arne Slot looks to give his new squad a full evaluation before deciding if they will be sold or not.
With Liverpool rejecting a bid from Olympique Marseille for Wataru Endo, it’s clear that the Anfield side are not looking to rush into any deals this summer, with the Merseyside giants already losing Joel Matip and Thiago Alcantara at the end of last season.
And Liverpool have now turned down a bid from a top European side for a star talent.

Liverpool shoot down £8m PSV offer for Sepp van den Berg
According to Fabrizio Romano, Liverpool have rejected an approach from PSV Eindhoven for Sepp van den Berg, with the journalist writing: “Understand PSV have sent formal bid to Liverpool for Sepp van den Berg at the end of last week, worth around €10m. Liverpool have immediately rejected the proposal.”
With Van den Berg available for £20m this summer, it’s easy to see why Liverpool were so quick to shoot down PSV’s proposal for the defender, especially with the Dutch side having the funds to match the Reds’ demands having qualified for next year’s Champions League.
At 22-years-old, Van den Berg is at a crossroads in his career this summer, with the centre-back just coming off a fantastic year out on loan in Germany with Bundesliga side FSV Mainz.
Indeed, the youngster has confirmed he has held talks about his future with Slot, and with PSV now making an approach to sign Van den Berg, the next few days could be key for the defender and his Liverpool career.

PSV could be a dream move for Van den Berg this summer
Having just won the Eredivisie and booked their ticket for next season’s Champions League, there’s a lot to like about PSV, especially for a player in the exact position Van den Berg finds himself in.
A return home to his nation’s best-ranked side is an appealing prospect for the Liverpool defender, who will likely become a regular in the new season as PSV look to embark on another adventure in Europe’s premier club competition.
And if PSV were to come back in with an offer that matched Liverpool’s demands for the centre-back, Van den Berg could jump at the chance to join the Eindhoven outfit, who could be perfect for the defender’s development.
