Liverpool are heading into the final week of July without having made a single signing this summer.
The Reds are now one of only two Premier League sides who are yet to add a new senior player to their squad since the end of last season.
Of course, there are a number of reasons for that. However, it should be pointed out that they are not the only club in the division who are getting to grips with having a new head coach.
Arne Slot has been given time to assess the Liverpool squad and that has been tough to do with so many away on holiday. But, again, the Reds are not alone in having to make do without a number of big players this pre-season.
As a result, supporters are starting to get agitated. With Liverpool now away on a tour of the USA, questions are starting to be asked of the Reds recruitment team.

Will Liverpool still make a new signing?
While movement has been painfully slow for Liverpool this transfer window, there have still been plenty of rumours.
The latest suggested that Liverpool were close to signing Takefusa Kubo from Real Sociedad.
However, just like plenty of others have been since May, the Kubo rumours were shot down by those with inside knowledge at Anfield.
There is still time for something to happen, though, and while the window remains open, fans will live in hope that a shiny new addition will come their way before August the 30th.

According to The Athletic though, those supporters may have to remain patient for a little while longer.
With Liverpool having now touched down in the US, they do not return to the AXA Training Centre until August the 4th.
It’s claimed that this is likely to be the date that Slot has his full squad available for the first time. By then, it will reportedly be ‘much clearer’ to the Dutchman and sporting director Richard Hughes what is needed for the season ahead.
In terms of new business, it is said that Liverpool fans ‘should expect’ something to happen around this time. Crucially though, this is caveated by the suggestion that signings will only be made ‘if the right opportunity comes up and money is available.’
Have Liverpool left it too late?
There is obviously sense in doing what Liverpool have done this summer and hold out in the transfer market.
So much change has happened behind the scenes and in the dugout at Anfield that it would have been hard to move on targets early doors anyway.
There were claims on Tuesday that Liverpool wanted to sign Jorrel Hato from Ajax early on into the window. However, Hato wanted to stay at Ajax.
And while they and Fulham are the only two to stay out of the market so far, other Premier League clubs have been quieter than usual, too.
Consequently, it still feels very much like the market is live for the time being. Liverpool have missed out on one or two targets but there is still plenty for them there. It’s time to start moving those wheels, though.
