Liverpool supporters are waiting for their club to get some business done this summer.

The Reds have so far stayed out of the market, preferring to wait until after the recent summer international tournaments.

It remains to be seen whether Liverpool will pump the gas and add some players for Arne Slot to work with at Anfield.

Links continue to appear in the press, suggesting that the Reds could still add to their first-team squad.

However, with the new season now just a month away from beginning, there is not a whole lot of time to get players signed and integrated.

Karim Adeyemi makes transfer admission

When looking at the Liverpool squad, you can understand to a degree why the Reds are still yet to do anything at all.

As well as some question marks over how Slot will play, Liverpool do have a lot of players already on their books. Some may have to go out before any come in.

To that end, there have been new suggestions that that could happen. Sepp van den Berg is attracting interest from PSV while Caoimhin Kelleher has been urged to leave by the new Ireland manager.

Those two sales should be irrelevant to whether Liverpool bring in a new forward, though. The Reds are reportedly on the lookout out for another addition to their front-line.

One of the players to have been linked is Borussia Dortmund’s Karim Adeyemi. Liverpool are one of the sides monitoring Adeyemi as his Dortmund future hangs in the balance.

And with rumours swirling around what he could do next, the 22-year-old has refused to be drawn on making a decisive comment.

“I can’t say anything about that, I’m wearing a Dortmund jersey, and I’m also very happy to be wearing a Dortmund jersey,” Adeyemi told Ruhr Nachricthen.

“[But] there are no guarantees in life,” he added, in a remark which the German outlet deem to be something far removed from a ‘clear denial.’

Should Liverpool make Karim Adeyemi move?

Liverpool have been linked with Adeyemi since even before he joined Borussia Dortmund in 2022.

When the German signed for the Champions League finalists, he did so for a fee of around £25m. Adeyemi is supposedly on the market for a similar price this time around.

For that kind of fee, Liverpool could certainly do worse. Adeyemi is rapid and as a left-footer could add something unique to the Reds squad.

However, he has been anything but prolific for Dortmund and you do have to question why they’d be willing to let a young and talented player leave for a relatively modest fee.

At one time Liverpool would have perhaps been all over Adeyemi. But we think he hasn’t done enough to justify a move this summer.
