Liverpool remain in talks with Karim Adeyemi over a potential summer transfer, according to reports. The young forward has many suitors.

This comes from Sky Germany. They detail a complex chase for Karim Adeyemi but maintain that Liverpool are in talks with the forward.

However, they’re far from the only ones. In fact, Borussia Dortmund lead the chase and have an agreement with RB Leipzig. Their problem is Adeyemi – he won’t agree to their terms, even though he does want to move there.

That means the 20-year-old remains in talks with Liverpool, RB Leipzig and Paris Saint-Germain over a possible move this summer. Those discussions make it hard for Dortmund to rely on Adeyemi lowering his demands. They’ll almost certainly need to boost their overall offer to secure the player.

If they can’t do that, perhaps Liverpool find a way to pounce for Adeyemi as the future of their attack.

Bild claimed at the end of March that Liverpool were still in this race, so Sky aren’t alone in this. Sky do believe that Salzburg’s asking price is lower than Bild, however – £30m to £38m.

That’s quite a difference. In fact, as we said at the time, that £38m figure is over double the initial price back in September.

So would Adeyemi be worth either figure? The 20-year-old has certainly made a name for himself this season but that’s a lot of money for someone playing in the Austrian Bundesliga. There would need to be a sense that Adeyemi truly is one of the game’s future stars.

And he might just tick that box. He’s done some incredible things this season, from terrifying Champions League defences to scoring great goals. Adeyemi has earned praise from pundits, too, with Glenn Hoddle labelling him ‘fabulous’.

Of course, the comparisons to Haaland are easy, with them both being young strikers scoring loads for Salzburg. We’re not entirely sure there’s that kind of potential in Adeyemi but he’s undoubtedly a fantastic talent.

£30m+ is a lot of money, though, and Liverpool don’t quite have space in their squad to give Adeyemi proper minutes, as things stand. It means we’re unsure if the club will offer enough to win this race, especially with Dortmund leading things as they are.
