Mohamed Salah appears to have returned to Liverpool training in fantastic spirits.

Salah has now entered into the final year of his contract with the Reds and it very much remains a possibility that he does not sign an extension.

However, for the time being, the Egyptian is still a Liverpool player, and a key one at that.

With Jurgen Klopp now gone, Salah is having to get used to Arne Slot, just like everyone else. Slot has already praised Salah for the shape he has returned in and the pair seem to have gelled nicely.

As Slot learned on Tuesday though, he’s going to have to get used to Mo’s insatiable desire to be as fit as he can possibly be.

Mo Salah pleads with Arne Slot

Salah has rarely been seen without a smile on his face at the AXA Training Centre during the early parts of pre-season.

Despite suggestions that the Saudi sides could still sign Salah, he has looked completely happy and relaxed as Slot’s tenure commences.

As always, that’s credit to Mo. Indeed, the 32-year-old did have a slight reason to be disappointed with his club this summer.

Liverpool blocked Salah from going to the Olympics with Egypt. Although the decision was reportedly taken in conversation with Mo, he could still have cause to be annoyed.

But Salah really is the ultimate professional. This was in evidence yet again on Tuesday, as Dominik Szoboszlai returned to training.

With Szoboszlai a week or so behind the likes of Salah, he did some gym work away from the group for his first day back. However, the LFCTV cameras still spotted the £60m man coming out onto the pitches, at which point he was spotted by Salah.

“Here he is!” beamed the Reds No.11. “Shall I wait for you? You’re going to run?” Turning to see Slot coming his way, Salah made a request to his new boss. “I want to run with him!” the forward declared.

“You’re going to run in the afternoon!” grinned Slot, giving Mo a slap on the shoulders as he passed.

Who’s back next for Liverpool?

With Szoboszlai returning alongside Andy Robertson and Vitezslav Jaros on Tuesday, three of Liverpool’s 14 international stars are now back.

Of the remaining 11, the next to have exited the summer tournaments was Diogo Jota with Portgual.

While Szoboszlai, Robertson and Jaros were all out by June 26th, Jota did not end his participation until July the 5th. As a result, it could still be more than a week before we see the next new arrival on Merseyside.

Alisson Becker should come after, with Brazil heading out of the Copa America two days after Portugal in the Euros.

Liverpool head to the United States soon, with their first pre-season fixture now just 10 days away. You’d imagine that any arriving after Alisson and Jota will have to join up in the US.
