Liverpool are still yet to do any business since Arne Slot took over as head coach this summer.
The Reds are usually relatively quick out of the blocks in the transfer market, but have held fire up until this point.
There are good reasons for that. Slot has only just begun his work at the AXA Training Centre and would no doubt like to take a look at his Liverpool squad before deciding on any additions.
Furthermore, the summer international tournaments have made it hard for clubs to get signings over the line. Liverpool are reportedly watching a couple of players at Euro 2024 and may need to be patient.
However, that doesn’t mean that things can’t progress slowly while the international football continues to take centre stage.

Arne Slot in touch over Jeremie Frimpong transfer
As there are now only eight teams left in the European Championship, Liverpool can no longer use it as a big excuse not to be buying players.
Having said that, the Reds aren’t going to make a whole raft of new signings. It will only be one or two.
As a result, there’s every chance that those players who are of genuine interest at Anfield are still vying for glory out in Germany.
Being a Dutch coach, it’s blatant that Slot will be keeping an eye on the Netherlands more than any other nation. Ronald Koeman’s side face Turkey for a spot in the last four on Saturday.

And according to German outlet SportBILD, Slot is doing more than just watching the Netherlands. They claim that he is in fact speaking to Dutch star Jeremie Frimpong about joining him on Merseyside.
Frimpong has been linked with Liverpool after being a key player in Bayer Leverkusen’s historic, double-winning campaign.
And as per BILD, this had led to the new Liverpool head coach being in direct contact with the 23-year-old during the ongoing Euros.
It’s claimed that Frimpong will be allowed to leave Leverkusen for around £34m. The Bundesliga champions are reportedly keen to put the money towards signing Mainz forward Brajan Gruda, who is also said to be on Liverpool’s radar.
Liverpool could use Jeremie Frimpong as a forward
Although Frimpong is nominally a right-back, the Netherlands international is in actuality more like a forward player.
He scored 14 goals and registered 10 assists for Leverkusen in 2023/24. Those are decent attacking numbers. No wonder Frimpong was called ‘dangerous’ by former Riga boss Mihails Koņevs while he played for Celtic [Daily Record].
If Liverpool signed him, you’d imagine that the former Man City academy prospect would be brought in to play as an attacker.
It still remains to be seen what Slot decides he wants to do with Trent Alexander-Arnold, but even if the 45-year-old sees him as a midfielder, Conor Bradley should be the new right-back.
Consequently, there is not much call for Frimpong as a full-back at Liverpool. As an attacker, perhaps that’s a different story, though.
