There are set to be some big changes at Liverpool over the coming years.
First of all, Jurgen Klopp is obviously about to call time on his hugely successful period with the Reds. Things just aren’t going to be the same without him.
Along with Klopp, it’s possible that Liverpool could potentially lose a couple more stalwarts, too. The futures of Virgil van Dijk and Mohamed Salah – both of who’s contracts end in 2025 – are under scrutiny.
Trent Alexander-Arnold is another who’s deal runs out next summer. With Real Madrid lurking, Liverpool need to get that sorted as soon as they can.
Whatever happens with that trio, there will be one more change coming in 2025. However, this one should hopefully be a more pleasant one for supporters.

Liverpool land new kit supplier deal
Liverpool have been with Nike for four seasons now. Having taken over from New Balance in 2020, the American sportswear giant haven’t always been popular with fans.
Although there have been one or two real success stories at Anfield – the 2021/22 away kit perhaps being the pick of the bunch – most have been met with a lukewarm reaction.
By now, supporters will have gotten used to seeing the famous Liver Bird next to the internationally recognised swoop. And yet, there’s a feeling that a change would be good.
And according to Sport Business, that’s exactly what Liverpool will get. With the current deal with Nike set to finish at the end of next season, there has reportedly been a ‘tender process’ ongoing with Adidas now ‘identified as the winning bidder.’
Nike were said to be interested in extending the contract, with Puma also claimed to be ‘actively interested.’ However, Adidas have reportedly won the day to kit Liverpool out until 2030.
The details of the deal are not provided, although it’s said to be more lucrative than the £50m per year currently on offer from Nike, but ‘well short’ of the record £90m per year Adidas pay Manchester United.
Did Adidas supply Liverpool’s kit before
Younger supporters will no doubt be excited to see Liverpool kitted out in Adidas for the first time in their lives.
However, for those a little older, they will have seen this all before. The Reds were most recently wearing the German sports brand back in 2012. That was when their last, six-year deal with Adidas ended, having begun in 2006.
Prior to that, Liverpool and Adidas enjoyed an 11-year-old relationship together. That started in 1985 and ended in 1996.
| Kit Supplier | Years |
| Nike | 2020 – 2024 |
| New Balance | 2015 – 2020 |
| Warrior | 2012 – 2015 |
| Adidas | 2006 – 2012 |
| Reebok | 1996 – 2006 |
| Adidas | 1985 – 1996 |
| Umbro | 1973 – 1985 |
This is of course yet to be confirmed by all of the official channels, but it looks likely that Liverpool have now made their decision.
Some won’t be bothered by this at all. They couldn’t care less either way. But for others, this will be a superb return to some iconic kits.
