Liverpool’s game against Brentford tomorrow has the potential to be a really tricky one.
The Reds are actually yet to win at the home of the Bees since their promotion to the Premier League in 2021. Two games, one point, four goals scored, six goals conceded.
When you add in that fact that Liverpool are set to be without key players like Trent Alexander-Arnold, it has the look of another difficult 12.30 away kick-off.
Nevertheless, there are reasons to be excited. And writing for Sportskeeda this week, pundit Paul Merson claimed that seeing Conor Bradley back is definitely one of them. After two games out following the awful news of his father passing away, Merson thinks Bradley will return on Saturday.
“Trent Alexander-Arnold is injured and I’m excited to see what Conor Bradley can do in his absence,” said the former Arsenal midfielder.
“His dad’s untimely demise was the reason he was out of the team, so Klopp will put him straight back into the XI. He’s an absolutely outstanding talent and should hopefully pick up from where he left off.”
Bradley set for Reds return
The news of Alexander-Arnold’s latest injury setback was of course a big blow for Liverpool. The 25-year-old is one of their most important players.
But there’s little question that the impact of the issue is softened with the knowledge that Bradley is ready to step back in.
Following his show-stopping performances last month, Liverpool supporters know that they can rely on the 20-year-old. Before his dad sadly passed away, young Conor was having the time of his life.
Obviously, there should be the proper care taken that he is definitely ready to come back. If Bradley is not yet in the right place mentally following an incredibly tough time, Joe Gomez is there, too.

With Andy Robertson and Kostas Tsimikas now fit again, Gomez is set to drop out of the side. Perhaps undeservedly so.
If Klopp deems the best course of action to give Bradley a little more time out, then Joe is also a solid option at right-back.
Given the excitement surrounding him though, fans will be keen to see the Northern Irishman again. There’s already been reports that Bradley will start the Carabao Cup final next weekend. As a result, he needs to get as much game time as possible in between now and then.
Trent’ absence will be felt, of that there is no doubt. But Conor took his chance to shine last time the vice-captain was missing. Let’s hope for a similar outcome this time, too.
