Conor Bradley has been the genuine revelation of 2024 so far. We are only into the second month of the year, but already the Northern Irishman has become a fan favourite.
Bradley has come almost out of nowhere. He caught the eye in a few glimpses in pre-season, but has spent the majority of the beginning of the campaign injured. When he initially stepped into Trent Alexander-Arnold’s role at the start of this month – few could have envisaged the meteoric success he would enjoy. Or that a month later we would be having a debate about which one of them should start against Arsenal.
Sadly, the tragic passing of Bradley’s father thwarted those debates. Everyone at RTK is sending our best wishes to the young man at this difficult time. We hope Bradley is given the space to grieve, and there should be no pressure on his return to the side.
When he is ready, Liverpool will have a fantastic talent on their hands again. A talent who has registered six goal contributions in his last four games – from right back. A talent who has once again demonstrated the power of Liverpool’s academy.

Luke Chambers is the next Conor Bradley?
What is exciting about Liverpool right now is that the talented players just keep coming one after another. Before Bradley, it was Jarell Quansah breaking into the first team earlier this season. And there are others waiting on the side lines who have already made their mark in cameos – like Bobby Clark and James McConnell.
Meanwhile, others are doing what Bradley and Quansah were doing last season – impressing while out on loan. Including Luke Chambers, who is currently at League One side Wigan Athletic. Chambers has gone straight into the starting XI since he joined the club in January. His manager has already described him as ‘incredible’ recently, and he keeps getting better and better.
On the pitch, Chambers has already played both as a left-back and as a left-sided centre-back in a back three for Wigan. He’s registered one assist so far, which was for a winning goal against Reading. And has helped his side win 10 points out of a possible 15 so far in the league.
Over the weekend, he once again caught the eye in a victory over Peterborough, winning the most tackles (4) on the pitch.
Chambers is highly rated by the club’s academy staff. There are high hopes for him to make it into the first team. This experience out on loan will give him the tools to make the next leap in his development when he returns to Anfield. Just like Bradley’s time at Bolton, and Quansah’s time at Bristol Rovers did the same for them.
