Jurgen Klopp is leaving Liverpool. And there are no two ways about it, his departure is devastating for the football club. The Liverpool boss has become synonymous with the Reds. Over his close to nine years at the club he transformed Liverpool. Well and truly made everyone from doubters to believers.
But we cannot blame for him for wanting to move on. Life is too short, and there are far more important things in life than football. If at his age he now wants to spend time with his family, we completely understand that. Being Liverpool manager doesn’t really give you enough time in the world to be able to do that.
Of course at Liverpool this will mean change. It’s not just Klopp leaving the club, but a lot of his backroom staff as well. Change is scary. It brings uncertainty. And there will be trepidations about what the future holds.
But change is also an opportunity. A chance to begin anew, and start with a fresh slate. Which is exactly what one Liverpool player will be hoping to do.

Fabio Carvalho chance
There is no denying Fabio Carvalho’s fortunes were never favoured at Anfield. Despite making a bright early start to his Liverpool career, scoring against Newcastle, Bournemouth and Manchester City – Klopp just couldn’t find a place for him in his system. Even though he has described Fabio Carvalho as an ‘outstanding’ prospect in the past.
That’s why last season during the second half of the campaign, Carvalho rarely featured. And that is why he was sent out on loan to RB Leipzig, and now Hull City this season.
But that could very well be about to change. Liverpool will not be playing Jurgen Klopp’s system anymore. If as it is rumoured Xabi Alonso comes in, then Carvalho will have a chance of getting back into the side. Alonso likes to play with number tens, and that is Carvalho’s preferred position.
He’s been showing exactly that at Hull City – where he has played in that role and has done quite well. He scored on his debut for the club from the number ten role. Meanwhile, in Hull City’s victory over Milwall this weekend – Carvalho created the most chances on the pitch.
