Jurgen Klopp’s announcement has been a shock to the entire footballing community. He has been such a key pillar at Liverpool. And an integral part of the Premier League as well. Always full of entertainment over the last nine years he spent in England.

But you cannot blame the man for his decision to call it quits at Anfield. Managing a club for such a long period of time and constantly competing for the top trophies takes its toll. Sometimes it’s easy to forget that the people we admire and love so dearly on the pitch – also have a life outside of it.

Klopp is due a well earned rest. And now the focus will be on giving him the best second off possible while he is still in charge of the club. Meanwhile, behind the scenes, Liverpool will prepare to recruit an ideal replacement.

How rivals clubs have reacted to Klopp’s news

But Liverpool must acknowledge that Klopp’s announcement can be used to the club’s detriment as well. Already, we have seen the media trying to negatively influence the news surrounding Klopp. And behind the scenes it’s not just the media working to exploit the situation.

According to a report by the Independent overtures have been made to representatives of key players. Some prospective employers have even tried to sound out Klopp himself.

This isn’t necessarily a shock. Liverpool have some of the best players in world football. It’s only natural some rival clubs would now try to exploit that given the uncertainty around the club. However, those who were only at Liverpool because of Klopp are players the Reds are better off without anyway.

Nonetheless, it’s also important to take this news with a pinch of salt. While it may be true, there is no detail in what the responses were from Liverpool’s stars. The likely answer we think would have been a refusal to even entertain ideas of moving to any prospective clubs.
