Darwin Nunez is simply an enigma. A beautiful bundle of chaos. But an enigma nonetheless. He simply just confounds you on the pitch. Sometimes he will be mesmerisingly brilliant. Other times, he will miss glaring opportunities in a what that will baffle you and keep you awake at night.
But for us Liverpool fans, that doesn’t even matter. We will take this Nunez, who misses chances, over any other player. Purely, because he is just so dangerous and frightening at what he does. He simply torments opposition players, and creates chaos in the final third.
His runs, his energy just gives Liverpool so much attacking threat going forward. As a defender, you would dread to face him. As a teammate, he is someone you’d absolutely love in your team for what he provides.

Against Chelsea last night, Nunez was again absolutely terrific. He provided so much threat going forward, and really caused Chelsea’s defence all sorts of problems.
In the end, all he had to show for it was an assist. Although, it really should have been more. Nunez missed a penalty, and hit the woodwork four times. That’s a record number in the Premier League according to Squawka.
Since records began by Opta, Nunez is the first player to hit the woodwork four times in a single Premier League game. It’s an astonishing record, but it’s one that if anyone was going to break was always going to be Darwin Nunez.
He has simply been really unfortunate with some of his finishes as well. Especially this season. But once fortune is on his side, and it will eventually turn in his favour – he will be unstoppable.
