Rio Ferdinand noticed what Liverpool fans did after Luis Diaz’s goal vs Chelsea last night

Liverpool vs Chelsea last night was quite an eventful affair. The Reds were all action all night absolutely dominating Chelsea.

Undoubtedly, Conor Bradley will get most of the headlines. He was simply sensational on the night and produced a magnificent performance. But there were plenty of other big performances as well.

In midfield, Alexis Mac Allister controlled the game, completely minimising the impact of Chelsea big money signings. The way the Argentine dictated everything was an absolute pleasure to watch.

And then on top of that there was the front three, who were all involved in the goals. Even if Darwin Nunez probably would have wanted to be more involved in them.

What Rio Ferdinand spotted after Luis Diaz’s goal

Luis Diaz’s goal was the last of the night for Liverpool. It was a well-worked goal, with Darwin Nunez running down the channels and putting in an inch perfect delivery for Diaz.

Speaking on TNT, Rio Ferdinand was quick to point out Nunez’s role in the goal, and the Liverpool supporters’ reaction to it.

“Even this goal the fans weren’t singing Diaz’s name, they were singing Nunez’s name,” Ferdinand said.

“Because I think they sympathise a bit with the lack of luck he’s had in front of goal or a bit of poor finishing at times.”

It’s true everyone sympathises with Darwin Nunez at Liverpool. Everyone also absolutely adores him. He is simply a sensational player, and the way he just keeps putting himself about is admirable. He will continue to keep trying and the goals will come for him eventually as well. It’s only a matter of time. But this was still another sublime performance from him.
