Liverpool’s academy is not getting the attention is deserves at the moment. Time and time again this season, young players have stepped-up into Jurgen Klopp’s first team with ease.
Against Norwich City, this was no exception. The club’s academy graduates stole the show, with the likes of James McConnell coming in for his start and getting an assist. But Jarell Quansah also put in a great performance, and Curtis Jones delivered another strong game, too.
Among the brightest prospects on Sunday afternoon though was Conor Bradley, who grabbed another assist in the first team, and produced a very dominant performance. The kind of performance that will give Klopp the confidence to use him again and again. The kind of performance that has impressed even a BBC pundit.

Conor Bradley a Robertson clone
Speaking on BBC Radio 5 Live, Pat Nevin signalled out Conor Bradley for special praise in the first half against Norwich. The former Chelsea winger described him as an Andy Robertson ‘clone.’
“Bradley has been phenomenal. He looks like a clone of Robertson,” Nevin said. “He’s started very well and that was brilliant. Any Liverpool player of any age would be proud of that. The fans are singing Nunez’s name because he always needs a lift and now he is scoring goals.
We can really see the comparisons to Robertson. Even though he plays on the right side, Bradley’s got the same drive and energy. The way he made that forward run and the pass into Darwin Nunez for Liverpool’s second goal was definitely reminiscent of the Scotsman.
