It was a good afternoon of football for Liverpool. The 5-2 victory over Norwich City was much needed to lift the dampened spirts around Anfield. It’s been a whirlwind few days after Jurgen Klopp’s announcement declaring that he will leave the club at the end of the season.

But against Norwich City, Liverpool proved there is a glittering future still ahead of the club. With so many youngsters making their mark in this game, and Klopp saying there is more to come – it’s an exciting time.

There were other positives in the match as well. Including the return of several key players. From Andy Robertson to Trent Alexander-Arnold and Dominik Szoboszlai. The latter even got himself an assist – in what was a bit of a first for him.

Dominik Szoboszlai delivering Liverpool first

In his previous club, Dominik Szoboszlai developed a bit of a habit as a set-piece specialist. He made nine goal contributions in total from set-pieces for RB Leipzig – which equalled 32% of his total output.

But at Liverpool, he has so far yet to make the same impact. Until today against Norwich. Previously, Szoboszlai had taken 27 corners with no avail as per FBref. But at last, the Hungarian finally managed to register an assist from a set-piece providing the assist for Virgil van Dijk from a superbly delivered corner.

Considering he was so proficient in this area at Leipzig, it’s definitely one where he can still improve at Liverpool. Szoboszlai has already proven he’s got a great technique and a unique way of striking the ball. The Reds need to find more ways to utilise it and make it count – just like he did against Norwich today.

As Harvey Elliott recently described, Szoboszlai is ‘unbelievable’ in training. And he’s got so many qualities that can help elevate Liverpool’s performances on the pitch.
