Ajax reportedly believe they can sign former Liverpool captain Jordan Henderson this month on loan.
The England international has been strongly linked with a return back to Europe this January just a few months after Henderson made the decision to swap Merseyside for Saudi Arabia.
To the shock of essentially nobody, the move hasn’t worked out for Henderson, with the 33-year-old midfielder now keen on leaving the Middle East and returning to top-level football.

And according to the Mirror, Ajax are confident they can win the race to sign Henderson on loan, with Juventus also interested in the former Liverpool midfielder.
Indeed, a move to Ajax would be suited for Henderson as it would allow the England international to play in a strong European division for one of the biggest clubs on the continent.
Moreover, the Dutch giants are in need of a top midfielder to help push them forward in the second-half of the season, with Ajax in need of a miracle if they’re to qualify for the UEFA Champions League.
Jordan Henderson and Ajax could be a match made in heaven

Henderson would be the first to admit that he made a massive mistake in deciding to quit Anfield last summer to join the money train to Saudi Arabia.
Yet in moving to Ajax, the veteran midfielder could join a club where he could be best suited to rebuild his tattered reputation, with Eredivisie an ideal division for Henderson’s style of play.
As also mentioned, Ajax are in need of a player who can boost morale and lead the Amsterdam-based club into the next half of the season with the quality needed to challenge for European glory.
