Juventus in talks to sign ‘outstanding’ player just months after Liverpool sold him

Juventus are reportedly in talks to sign Jordan Henderson on loan, just months after the midfielder left Liverpool to move to Saudi Arabia.

The England international made the shock decision to depart Anfield in the summer to reunite with Steven Gerrard in the Middle East at Al-Ettifaq in a £12m deal.

However, according to reports, Henderson is already eager to quite Saudi Arabia, with the former Liverpool captain keen to return to Europe this January.

And as reported by Gazzetta dello Sport, Juventus are now in talks to sign Henderson on loan, with the likes of Ajax also being linked with a move for the England midfielder.

Once lauded as ‘outstanding’ by Gareth Southgate, a move to Italy with Juventus would be quite the switch for Henderson given where the 33-year-old has been playing this season.

And for Liverpool, seeing their former captain return to Europe to play for a club as big as Juventus would be quite a shock, especially after how recently Henderson was sold to Saudi Arabia.

It’s becoming obvious to everybody now that Henderson made a huge career misstep in deciding to move to Saudi Arabia this summer, something most critics and fans could have easily predicted.

Yet the ongoing exodus in the Middle East could help a number of European clubs, and Juventus signing Henderson this January could be one such deal.

The Italian giants are in the market for a central midfielder as Juventus look to reclaim their throne as Serie A’s biggest and best team.

And signing a player like Henderson would help the Old Lady greatly, with the former Liverpool man well-suited to the Italian style and the pace of Serie A.
