Liverpool has already been quite active in the transfer window this month. It’s just five days into the January window but the club has already made four key decisions so far.
Jurgen Klopp’s side recalled Fabio Carvalho from his loan spell at RB Leipzig, then also recalled Owen Beck, James Balagizi and Rhys Williams. The four players will now have different targets set for them for the rest of the month.
It is a possibility that some of them will be sent out on loan again – particularly Carvalho, who desperately needs minutes to progress.
And it seems like Liverpool won’t stop at four recalls either. The Reds could be in line to make another one this month.

Calvin Ramsay set to return?
Ramsay has had a terribly unfortunate 18 months since arriving at Liverpool. Last season, he was cursed by injuries which limited his ability to make an impact on the pitch. This season he was sent out on loan to Preston North End to revive his career – but another injury and then being infected with COVID-19 has set him back again.
Speaking to the media in his press conference as per Aberdeen Live Preston manager Ryan Lowe has admitted Liverpool could recall Ramsay this month.
“Well, there is a possibility with everything. Again, you look at him not playing enough games; he wanted to come here and play and force his way in – which is why we signed him, to compete with Pottsy.
“The injury set him back, then he played and then Covid set him back. He’s now finding himself out of the squad, but there is a possibility with everything. We will do what is best for us and the player as well.
“Calvin has got the opportunity every day, like most players, to get back into the squad. I had a brief chat with him the other day about it and he’s obviously disappointed he is not in and around the squad – because he feels he can help and get into the team.
“The problem he has got is that we’ve got someone like Brad Potts, who has been one of our most outstanding performers since I came through the door.
“We have also got cover in there who can fill that void, whether it is Alan Browne or Ali McCann – if it’s right wing-back. And if it’s right back, the defenders can go across there so I’ve got to pick a team and squad I feel can help us in games. And if we need to make changes in game, from the bench.
“He’s just a little bit unfortunate. I think the Covid thing really has set him back, because the squad we’ve had from then has been the squad more or less. But yeah, he’s definitely available for selection if needed.”
Ramsay has made just two appearances for Preston so far this season. There is no denying he has been incredibly unfortunate but there is still a lot of potential in the 20-year-old, and Liverpool will continue to have high hopes for Ramsay’s future – especially since the club invested a hefty £6.5m to sign him back in the summer of 2022 as per Sky Sports.
