21-year-old Liverpool loanee says he wants to go back to Anfield and play next season

Tyler Morton has vowed to break into Liverpool’s senior team next season once back from his second Championship loan spell this campaign.

The England youth international is quite the prospect having already won the respect of Jurgen Klopp as well as strike up a good friendship with Liverpool star Harvey Elliott.

And now, speaking to the Liverpool Echo, Morton has stated his dream of becoming a part of Jurgen Klopp’s first-team plans, with the midfielder impressing out on loan with Hull City.

Morton said when asked about his future plans when he returns to Liverpool in 2024: “I’m happy that Liverpool have got that team because I’m a Liverpool supporter as well.

“They’re a fantastic team and I’m excited to get back there. Yeah, I hope so [on if playing for England’s U-21s could help him break into Liverpool’s first team].

“That’s the long run. I’m kind of a realistic type of person and I think about the now (at Hull). But that would be lovely and is where I want to be.”

With Thiago Alcantara reportedly set to leave Liverpool next summer, a spot in the midfield could soon be about to open up for an aspiring player looking to make it at a Premier League club.

And Morton could just be the perfect fit for such a position, with the 21-year-old already highly-rated at Liverpool having made his debut at the club two seasons ago under Klopp.

Whilst it might take quite the development boost, Morton has shown enough in his limited time as a senior player that he has the potential to become a superstar at a Premier League level.

And with the midfielder now confident in his own abilities to break into Liverpool’s senior squad, Morton could well be on his way to becoming the next academy star to become a regular in this current team.
