Tyler Morton has to be Liverpool’s loaned player to watch out for in 2023.

The 20-year-old joined Blackburn Rovers on loan in the Championship this season, with the Reds looking to secure the youngster regular first-team football.

Harvey Elliott excelled at Ewood Park two years ago. Arriving as a 17-year-old, the former Fulham youth talent played a staggering 41 games in the second division, during which he bagged seven goals and 11 assists.

This move was huge in the midfielder’s development, so the Merseyside outfit decided it would be the perfect club to send Morton to as well.

Joining the side after the first game had already been played, the Liverpool gem has featured in every Championship match since, including 17 appearances from the starting XI.

Incredibly, the midfielder has been ranked as the Rovers’ send-best player this term, having averaged a stunning 7.50 match rating.

Morton one to watch out for

Currently, Blackburn sit third in the league table. They trail five points behind Sheffield United. Therefore, with half of the campaign left to play, Jon Dahl Tomasson’s side have a real chance of gaining automatic promotion to the Premier League.

Taking part in such a battle, this will be a brilliant experience for the youngster. He will become accustomed to the high intensity that surrounds crucial matches, and will hopefully continue to play week-in, week-out.

The 20-year-old has made nine appearances for the Liverpool first-team to date, and with a full season in the Championship under his belt, there are hopes he will be ready to challenge for a spot in the senior squad next year.

Morton has already been described by Jurgen Klopp as an ‘incredible’ player, so the Reds clearly have high hopes for the youngster.
