Liverpool may now have a new chance to sign Daichi Kamada as his agent has offered Inter Milan the free agent’s transfer after seeing his likely switch to AC Milan collapse.

That is according to Gazzetta dello Sport, which reports that intermediaries have suggested a transfer for Kamada to Inter Milan. The 26-year-old is currently unattached to a club after leaving Eintracht Frankfurt in June. He quit Die Adler after six years at the end of his terms.

Kamada was one step away from joining AC Milan earlier this month, though. Yet the exits of technical director Paolo Maldini and sporting director Frederic Massara put an end to a move to the Rossoneri. While Lazio have also since failed to agree to personal terms with his camp.

Agents offer Inter Milan the free transfer of Daichi Kamada

Lazio sought to capitalise on AC Milan pulling the plug on Kamada’s transfer. Yet he is now a topic for discussion at Inter Milan as the Nerazzurri look to replace Henrikh Mkhitaryan. But they will not decide on any transfer for the Japan maestro before they replace Andre Onana.

Inter Milan are also prioritising transfers for a new striker and a right-sided centre-back. So, Liverpool could have a fresh chance to seal Kamada’s transfer following the Reds’ reported interest. The Nerazzurri do, however, appreciate Kamada and feel he is an interesting case.

Liverpool have a new chance to sign Daichi Kamada this summer

Kamada had long been in line to get a transfer to AC Milan upon the expiry of his contract at Eintracht Frankfurt. But several of the playmaker’s rival suitors never lost their interest in his signature. Calciomercato.it listed Liverpool as a club keen on Kamada’s transfer this June.

It noted that the Reds – along with Atletico Madrid, Benfica and Borussia Dortmund – hoped to hijack AC Milan’s move. The quartet of clubs could all give the midfielder a superior salary than what the Rossoneri were proposing, too. Yet he gave AC Milan his word he would join.

His projected transfer to AC Milan collapsed, however, and now Kamada’s agent is in contact with their rivals, Inter Milan. So, the door should still be open for Liverpool to swoop and to sign Kamada in a free transfer. Kamada could bring a vastly creative presence to Merseyside.

Lucy Ward also told BT Sport that Kamada was ‘exceptional’ against West Ham United in the Europa League in 2022. He dazzled and scored in Die Adler’s semi-final win for one of his six goals and four assists in 46 games. He scored 16 goals and created seven in 47 in 2022/23.
