Daichi Kamada has reportedly snubbed interest from Liverpool to sign for AC Milan, with the Reds set to miss out on another target.
According to the Athletic, the Merseyside giants were in the race to sign the Japanese international as a free-agent. However, Kamada has turned down the likes of Liverpool, Borussia Dortmund and Benfica to sign for Milan, the club the forward supported as a kid.
The 26-year-old has been one of the most consistent attackers in the Bundesliga in recent years, yet despite strong interest from the Premier League, Milan will be Kamada’s next destination once the Asian superstar leaves Eintracht Frankfurt this summer.

Hailed as an ‘exceptional’ player by BT Sport pundit Lucy Ward, Kamada could have been an ideal replacement for Roberto Firmino for Liverpool. Yet with Jurgen Klopp seemingly going into the summer without a need for an attacker, the Reds losing pace in the race for the versatile forward makes sense.
Indeed, with Milan also in the market for an attacker, Kamada ticks a lot of boxes for what the Rossoneri need in the market, with the Japanese ace unlikely to reject an approach from the club he grew up supporting, who next season will be in the UEFA Champions League.
Kamada signing for Milan should not worry Liverpool

Whilst Milan have been historic European rivals for Liverpool, the Merseyside giants will likely feel no grief in the Italian side winning the race for Kamada, especially with the Reds looking to spend big on midfielders and a defender this summer.
In another year, Kamada would have been an ideal Liverpool signing based on his intelligent style of play and impressive versatility, but with the Anfield side in a different position, a move to Milan makes a lot of sense for the 26-year-old Japanese star.
