Nicolo Barella is hoping to become a legend at Inter Milan instead of joining Liverpool.
The Italy international has been heavily linked with a move to Anfield this summer, with Sky Sports the latest to claim Liverpool’s interest.
However, they claim that although Barella is a target for Jurgen Klopp, he’s currently not likely to join.

Citing their own sources, Sky Sports claim that the 26-year-old is currently ‘leaning’ towards staying with the San Siro side. He reportedly wants to become a club legend in Milan.
That’s despite ‘strong’ interest from ‘a number’ of Premier League sides, including Liverpool.
As they look to try and tie up a deal to sign Dominik Szoboszlai, it’s unclear whether Barella would be in addition, or an alternative to the Hungarian.
Liverpool holding out Barella hope
Throughout the stories linking Barella to Liverpool, one thing has remained a constant: the player doesn’t want the move.
Having spent four successful years at Inter, Barella is a firm fan favourite. In fact, there were even reports that the faithful supporters were ready to riot if their hero was sold.
Seen through that lens, it’s easy to see why the Italian wants to stay in his homeland.

A move to Liverpool would be something brand new. Players from the Peninsula have rarely fared well in the Premier League and perhaps this is in Barella’s thinking, too.
Nevertheless, the transfer still feels more possible now than it ever has in the past.
Given the volume of stories reporting as much, it’s clear that Liverpool would jump at the chance to sign Barella if offered it.
It still remains unlikely that that opportunity will come. But should Barella change his mind, the Reds will be there.
