RB Leipzig midfielder Dominik Szoboszlai has made it clear that he wants to join Liverpool this summer.
After a flurry of activity this morning, the Reds look set to sign Szoboszlai perhaps even before the end of the day. And taking to Twitter to give some more detail on the potential signing, Sky Sports journalist Melissa Reddy says the Hungarian is sold on the idea of moving to Anfield.
“Dominik Szoboszlai has made it clear he wants to join Liverpool, who are pressing ahead to sign him,” Reddy wrote.

“The club had a positive meeting with his reps on Monday, Newcastle have ended their interest in the midfielder and many of the other hurdles have been cleared.”
It’s looking good, Reds! All set for a big day!
Liverpool make Szoboszlai breakthrough
With news that Szoboszlai’s release clause is set to expire today, it looked like something may potentially happen very quickly.
However, ever cautious in the market, we thought Liverpool would sit out and negotiate a lower fee with RB Leizpig.
But as cautious as they are, the Reds also love to spring a surprise or two. And make no mistake, Szoboszlai would be a big one.

In hindsight the signs have been there. It shouldn’t be a surprise to hear that he’s keen to join Liverpool, he made a public statement declaring as much in the lead up to the summer. The Hungary international is blatantly a big fan of Jurgen Klopp and is desperate to work under him.
But nevertheless, Szoboszali’s name wasn’t really one in the conversation for most of the summer so far. The likes of Khephren Thuram, Ryan Gravenberch and Manu Kone have been the names on everyone’s lips.
It remains to be seen whether Liverpool continue to pursue moves for any of that trio. Even if they don’t though, Szoboszlai and Alexis Mac Allister are two superb looking signings. The Leipzig man hasn’t been called ‘special’ by former manager Jesse Marsch [Nemzeti Sport] for nothing
Together, they have the potential to transform Klopp’s midfield. Not done yet this, but it looks like we’re in the home straight.
