Liverpool are one of the teams considering a move for Eintracht Frankfurt defender Evan Ndicka.
That’s according to journalist Fabrizio Romano. Writing for CaughtOffside this morning, Romano claimed that Ndicka is one of the names on the Reds’ summer shortlist for defensive reinforcements.
“Evan Ndicka is one of the names they are considering, not the only one,” said the journalist. “There are 4/5 clubs keen on signing Ndicka as free agent – and I’m sure Liverpool will have a list with many players as they plan to strengthen the defence.”

Contrasting reports on Ndicka
This isn’t the first time Liverpool have been linked with the signing of Ndicka recently. But it is the first time the self-styled transfer guru Romano has weighed in on it.
The timing is interesting. It comes just a day after local Liverpool journalist Neil Jones rubbished claims that the Reds could be in for the French defender.

Certainly, Liverpool fans will be hoping that Jones is wide of the mark this time. Ndicka would be a really good signing.
He’s soon to turn twenty-four, available on a free transfer and has plenty of experience. You can see why the Frankfurt man would be attractive to Jurgen Klopp.
The Reds boss will soon be searching for the right successor for Joel Matip. Ndicka could well be the right man at the right time. He could save Liverpool a big transfer fee at the very least.
Either way, we feel there’s been a little too much smoke on this one without a fire somewhere. Given his obvious qualities, Liverpool’s need for a centre-back and their even greater need to pinch pennies, we could see this happening.
