The agents of Jude Bellingham have told Real Madrid that they’re now speaking with Liverpool about a transfer.
“I understand Team Bellingham have told Real Madrid they are talking to Liverpool too. At the moment “no favourites”. As they at this stage are investigating their options,” wrote the Norwegian.
This could be taken as both a positive and a negative update for Liverpool. It’s apparent that talks have begun with the Reds about a move, that’s obviously positive. But the same can also be said for Madrid. We’d prefer you just talk to us, Jude! You can’t have everything, I guess.
Bellingham decision getting closer
After months, or even years of speculation, it looks as though the Bellingham race is finally now clicking into gear.
Bellingham has always said that he won’t rush into a decision on his future. It was always clear that the 19-year-old will wait to get the World Cup with England out of the way first.
Now that the tournament has long-since disappeared into the rear view mirror, the countdown to his hotly anticipated decision can begin.
Given that Liverpool are still well in the race, you’d think that they’ll be aware of the kind of price it’ll take to prise the player from Borussia Dortmund.
As a result, these talks with the Bellingham clan will be crucial. The teenager’s father is said to be the key man in discussions, which should make life easier for the clubs involved.
Without dozens of different agents weighing in and wanting a cut, things are likely to be simpler.
When it comes down to it though, the decision will be with Bellingham himself. Will he be won over by all that Liverpool can offer him, or will he be tempted by the chance for glory in Spain.
With updates now coming thick and fast, it feels as though we won’t have to wait so long to find out.
