Report: Liverpool now worried that Man City are becoming more attractive to ‘outstanding’ transfer target

Liverpool are worried that Manchester City may be able to offer a better pitch to sign top transfer target Jude Bellingham.

Bellingham has long been seen as the ideal signing for Liverpool. But they face plenty of competition for his signature, not least from their North West rivals City.

According to The Telegraph today, this has led to some concern from the Reds. They are reportedly worried that City can offer a better ‘pitch’ to the 19-year-old.

However, it’s claimed that Liverpool still retain hope that Bellingham and his family will see Anfield as the best place for his development. To that end, Jurgen Klopp is said to want the Borussia Dortmund midfielder ‘above all.’

Big boys await Bellingham decision

It’s getting close to crunch time in the Bellingham transfer saga. It has felt to have rumbled on years and years, and in a way it has.

His move to Dortmund in 2020 always felt like something of a temporary stop on his way to one of European football’s behemoths.

So, really, the fight for Bellingham’s signature has been ongoing for more than two years.

It’s reasonable to believe that clubs like Liverpool and City have been trying to convince the teenager of their merits for all of that time. Now, with three or four clubs still in the running, both will fancy their chances.

But beware of Real Madrid. The Spanish giants are rumoured to have overtaken both of their English counterparts of recently. They’re not going to quietly when one of world football’s hottest properties is at stake.

Liverpool still have some legwork ahead of them to get this over the line, then. Having put themselves firmly in the running though, the final decision is going to be Bellingham’s.

Truthfully, it’ll be good to get this behind us, whatever the former Birmingham youngster’s decision.

Obviously, we all hope he makes the right choice and picks Liverpool. As Harry Kane says, he’s an ‘outstanding’ player and he would improve the team significantly. But should Bellingham decide otherwise, we’ll finally be able to focus on other targets, presumably armed with a big budget.
