Reported Liverpool transfer target Yunus Musah could be on the market for as little as £17m this summer.
That’s according to The Athletic, who claim that Valencia are open to selling the 20-year-old. Due to their financial problems, they are said to be ready to begin negotiations for less than £20m.
Liverpool aren’t mentioned specifically here. But Valencia are reportedly hoping Musah’s World Cup displays for USA will trigger plenty of interest in him.
For his part, Musah is claimed to be happy to take on a new challenge, having been in Spain since 2019.

Liverpool looking to bag a bargain
This could be great news for Liverpool as they look to pour funds into their midfield. With other targets such as Jude Bellingham and Enzo Fernandez set to potentially cost nine-figure sums, Musah would be a nice little option.
He has indeed impressed at the World Cup, battling hard in the USA midfield. And that has reportedly caught Liverpool’s attention, too.
As per 90min, the Reds have gone as far as making contact with the player’s agent following the tournament. They also report that Musah has a release clause of around £86m in his contract.
Given the price-tag set on him by The Athletic, Liverpool could grab themselves an absolute bargain from Valencia.

It would certainly make sense for the Reds at that price. They need bodies in the midfield. With major funds set to be allocated to both Bellingham and Fernandez, they need a cheaper signing as well.
For much of the past few weeks, that signing has looked like potentially being Fiorentina’s Sofyan Amrabat.
But now that the secret of his talent is very much out, a bidding war might not appeal to Liverpool. Six years Amrabat’s junior, Musah certainly has plenty of potential.
Whether or not the Reds decide to add another youthful midfielder to the mix, or add a bit more of a sure-thing, they’ve certainly got options.
