Liverpool could be about to sign three of the World Cup’s star performers as they look to overhaul their midfield.
The middle of the park has long been an issue for Jurgen Klopp. With a lack of signings over recent years leading to an aging and injury-prone midfield, Liverpool have left themselves a lot of work to do in the market.
Thankfully, it now looks as though their heads are switched on to the matter of a big midfield revamp.
Liverpool don’t just need one midfielder over the coming two windows. Perhaps two won’t even be enough. No, Klopp could really do with at least three new players to replace those set to depart.

Luckily, three players have used the World Cup to showcase exactly why they are the perfect signings for Liverpool.
Sofyan Amrabat, Jude Bellingham and Enzo Fernandez. Three midfielders of differing levels of stardom who could well be the answer to Liverpool fans’ prayers.
Stars confirm what Liverpool already knew in Qatar
In true Liverpool style, interest in these players is not a new development. The Reds tend to track potential targets for some time and these three are no different.
Bellingham is, of course, the most high profile of these three musketeers. But despite ferocious competition as well as his enormous price-tag, it looks like Liverpool may win the race for England’s hottest prospect. The World Cup has only enhanced his burgeoning reputation, leading to plenty of drooling from Reds supporters.
Fernandez has been enjoying a similarly prosperous tournament. Having now cemented himself as part of Argentina’s strongest XI, his stock has risen remarkably.

This reportedly hasn’t put Liverpool off him, though. Quite the opposite actually. Instead, Klopp and co are reportedly on the verge of sealing an agreement with Benfica. Should the Argentines go all the way, this may become more complicated. But the signs look good for now.
Finally, to perhaps the most intriguing of the trio – Sofyan Amrabat. The Moroccan has been a breakout star in Qatar, as his country prepare for their first ever semi final.
While a move for the destroyer may not have appealed before the World Cup, it certainly does now. Amrabat has hands down been one of the best midfielders on show in the Middle East. As it turns out, Liverpool pre-empted this by speaking with the 26-year-old before the tournament even began.
All three of these players would offer something different to Liverpool. It’s easy to see them forming a well-balanced midfield in the future.
They’d certainly cost a pretty penny, that’s true. But in this market, you often get what you pay for. Liverpool have shopped in the bargain bin for too long. Spend big on these three and their midfield will be well and truly ready to take on the world.
