Fiorentina have set their upfront cost for Sofyan Amrabat, according to reports. Liverpool ‘love’ the World Cup star.
This comes from Relevo. Journalist Matteo Moretto claims that Liverpool are very interested in Sofyan Amrabat.
In fact, he believes that the Reds have had scouts specifically watching the Moroccan at the World Cup. They’ve come away ‘amazed’ with his performance as he’s helped them become the first African side to make a semi-final.
And ‘helped’ could be underselling it. Amrabat has felt like a revelation and is up there with the best players of the tournament so far. No one should be shocked to see him make the Team of the Tournament later this month.
It’s no surprise, then, that Liverpool apparently ‘loved’ the 26-year-old. Jurgen Klopp is a fan, too, and the Reds will try to sign the player.
Fiorentina, however, won’t let him go easily. They realise they have a diamond here and would want at least £25m upfront before add-ons. That is, no team that isn’t paying a straight £25m immediately this winter is signing the player. That’s a big chunk of cash that rules out quite a few buyers.
Sofyan Amrabat to cost at least £25m
It’s one thing for a player to cost £25m. It’s another to need that much in available cash midway through a season just to get his club to the table. Amrabat is going to cost more than that, too – likely over £30m.

Liverpool, then, have a big decision to make. We’d simply love to see them sign the Moroccan, who has been fantastic in every game this tournament.
There are reports that Liverpool do want to sign a ‘physical’ midfielder in 2023, too, in order to play with Jude Bellingham. Amrabat would fit the profile perfectly.
Now we just need to hope he doesn’t listen to his brother.
