Borussia Dortmund midfielder Jude Bellingham has named Liverpool’s Jordan Henderson as one of the most professional players he’s come across.
Asked in a video from Football Daily who the most professional player he’s played with is, Bellingham said he’s impressed with Liverpool’s captain.
“England I’d probably say Hendo,” said the reported Liverpool transfer target. “(He’s) just always doing extras, always working so hard on the pitch, even in the gym and stuff he’s always putting it in.”
Come to Liverpool and you can learn from him day-in-day-out, Jude! You know you want to!
Henderson holds the key to Bellingham pursuit
Bellingham’s good relationship with Henderson is certainly something Liverpool can use in their pursuit of the teenager. The two player’s have spoken of their admiration for each other in the past.
Bellingham obviously looks up to Henderson as a player who has won so much in the game. Hendo meanwhile, is clearly a fan of his younger colleague‘s ability, maturity and potential.
These all could be meaningless bits of information, of course. There are many things that go into a player’s decision when deciding on a club to play for. In Bellingham’s case, he won’t be short of lucrative options, too.
But when there’s a player who plays in the same position, a player who the target has such admiration for, it can be significant.
Liverpool’s desire to bring Bellingham to Anfield next summer seems to be no secret within football. Henderson will be aware of that, and should be using his influence to persuade the Dortmund man towards joining him on Merseyside.
The two will get the chance to spend a prolonged period together during the World Cup at the end of this year. Hopefully whilst away, Henderson can leave him in no doubt as to where his future should lie.
