Liverpool have uploaded a showreel of Thiago’s incredible performance in the 4-0 win over Manchester United on Tuesday evening. The Spaniard was exceptional.

Thiago put in a performance to remember on Tuesday at Anfield as he ran the show for Liverpool. The Reds smashed Manchester United 4-0, of course, and despite not scoring or assisting himself, people were talking about their no.6.

Gary Lineker talked about how much he loves watching Thiago play. Jamie Carragher says it might be his best display in a Liverpool shirt. Jordan Henderson says it’s a pleasure to play alongside him.

Andy Robertson then had some kind words about Thiago for Liverpoolfc.com.

“Thiago’s a special player and the performances he’s putting in just now are exceptional and he needs to keep that going,” said the Scot.

“He played at a really high standard but I thought Fabinho and [Henderson] were outstanding as well and did the dirty work, won the ball back – and so did Thiago.”

And now Liverpool are in on the act as they uploaded a showreel of Thiago’s 80-minute masterclass last night.

Thiago is magnificent for Liverpool

It was a performance that looked fantastic even before you get into the stats. They were pretty formidable, too, though.

Despite not playing the final 10 minutes, no one had more touches than Thiago (132) and the same can be said for completing passes (108). The fact he achieved the latter at a 95 per cent success rate is just ridiculous – that was, again, a match-high.

Thiago created three chances (match-high), made three dribbles (match-high), and won three tackles (most of any Liverpool player). No one made more interceptions for that matter, either (2).

This was an incredible performance and Thiago showed everyone how you run a game. No United player got near him and he continuously picked them apart over his 80 minutes. The style in which he did it, too, was breathtaking – and that four-minute video shows it beautifully.
