Karim Adeyemi wins 4 penalties in 2 games; Liverpool simply must sign him

Karim Adeyemi has now won four penalties in two Champions League games. Liverpool surely have to get their hands on the 19-year-old.

Karim Adeyemi is certainly catching the eye for RB Salzburg this season. The teenager has stepped into the shoes of Patson Daka – and Erling Haaland before him – as the bright young striker at the club.

It’s going well. Adeyemi has seven goals in nine Austrian Bundesliga games this season and earned himself a debut for Germany. He scored on that debut, of course.

But it’s in the Champions League where Adeyemi really has to prove himself. The quality of opposition is high and it’s where teams will truly learn about him.

And if big clubs are watching, they’ll certainly be impressed. Adeyemi has been electric to kick off the campaign.

He was wonderful against Sevilla two weeks ago, winning three first-half penalties – a fairly unbelievable statistic. Adeyemi did miss the first, admittedly, but Sevilla just couldn’t handle him.

The teenager then did it against at home to Lille tonight. His pace and movement forced Sven Botman into a lunge and the ref pointed to the spot.

Adeyemi stepped up for this one despite his miss in Spain and scored. He then scored a second penalty later on – though, he didn’t win that one.

On top of that, Adeyemi showed a defensive side to his game, winning two tackles. You can’t really ask for more.

We think he looks perfect. In fact, we thought that even before these Champions League displays.

He’s a natural finisher and someone who looks like a livewire every time he plays. Teams just can’t afford to leave any space for him to run into, nor are they able to leave defenders isolated against Adeyemi.

The fact he’s doing all of this at just 19 is fantastic and enough that we think Liverpool should get involved already. Adeyemi is only going to grow competition for his signature with games like this.
