Mateusz Musialowski signs first professional contract at Liverpool

Liverpool starlet Mateusz Musialowski has signed his first professional contract at the club.

The youngster is currently on a pre-season training camp in Austria with the first-team squad.

Liverpoolfc.com have confirmed that he has signed a new long-term deal at the club, opening the door for a first-team debut in the near future.

It is an exciting next step for a player that has been a revelation on Merseyside ever since he joined the academy from SMS Lodz in August 2020.

Playing for the u18 side, Musialowski scored 12 goals and assisted three more in 25 appearances in all competitions. This is including his sublime solo goal against Newcastle which won the club’s Goal of the Month competition for March.

He impressed enough to earn a spot in first-team training for a part of the season.

The 17-year-old is likely to get some first-team minutes this pre-season.

Musialowski is one of the most exciting 17-year-olds in world football.

Liverpool fans have not delayed in getting excited about him, despite the fact that he is yet to play for the senior side.

While the likes of Kaide Gordon and James Balagizi are incredibly exciting, it is the Pole that is the jewel in the Liverpool academy crown at the moment.

He is a left-winger by trade but could play anywhere across the frontline. In fact, he looks perfect for the inside forward position that the likes of Mo Salah and Sadio Mane play in.

According to Goal, the Reds beat famously smart clubs Ajax and RB Leipzig to his signature. Considering that these teams were interested in him, Musialowski is clearly an outstanding talent.

In fact, he has been likened to Eden Hazard due to his dribbling ability.

It is obvious that the club have huge hopes for him, with this new contract a huge indication of that.

We hope to see him playing some of the friendly games in Austria alongside Salah and Mane.

After this, a step up to the u23 team is guaranteed.

Who knows, if he impresses enough he could be in for a professional debut before the season is over.
