Here are the four Liverpool players we’re most excited to see vs FC Midtjylland. The Reds could put out a very young lineup in the UEFA Champions League.

FC Midtjylland vs Liverpool will be a strange game and we could well see some players for the first time. The match is effectively a dead-rubber, with a pack fixture schedule surely pushing Jurgen Klopp towards heavy rotation.

So with that in mind, here are four players we hope to see face Midtjylland.

Billy Koumetio

We’ll start with no.1 here. Koumetio looks like a player with huge potential and we’ve wanted to see him at the back for a while.

It looks like we’ll finally see him against Midtjylland, though. He only played 45 minutes for the U18s at the weekend – a sign that he was saved for this one.

Koumetio could kick on to have a decent role at centre-half this season, given the injury crisis. First, though, he needs a debut.

Trent Alexander-Arnold

No mystery surrounding this player – we just want to see more of Alexander-Arnold.

He made his return against Wolves on Sunday and immediately created a goal with a fantastic cross. Hopefully, we get to see similar at some point on Wednesday.

Kostas Tsimikas

We’ve barely seen Tsimikas since he arrived at the start of the season. He’s started just two games – against Lincoln City in the League Cup and at home against Atalanta.

We just want to see more of him. He looks like an aggressive, eager left-back and, potentially, a player we’d love seeing.

Hopefully, Tsimikas gets a run out from the start in Denmark.

Layton Stewart

It’s a long-shot but we’d love to see Stewart get a debut. He’s a player scoring for fun at youth level and this seems like a good game to give him a chance.

Tellingly, he didn’t get the Koumetio treatment. He played the full game for the U18s, scoring twice.

But there clearly wasn’t a plan to rest him to face Midtjylland. Still, we’ll cross our fingers all the same.
