Liverpool will fight with Real Madrid for Lille midfielder Boubakary Soumare, according to reports. It’s the latest example of Liverpool and Real heading the same way.
And interestingly, Real are in the race, too. Zinedine Zidane wants the player – and Soumare certainly isn’t the only one.
This is merely the latest report claiming that Liverpool are Real Madrid are after the same targets. Either people are struggling to find players and clubs to write about, or the two European giants are after the same things.
Both seem as likely as the other, honestly.
We’ve covered reports on several of them, such as Fabian Ruiz’s price, Real joining Liverpool in chasing Ferran Torres, and both Dayot Upamecano & Eduardo Camavinga wanting Real.
And so it seems that if either club wants a player this summer, they’ll have to get the better of the other. And that’s no easy task.
As for Soumare, it would seem that it’s a choice between him and Camavinga for both sides. It makes little sense to sign either and the links with Camavinga and, in particular, Real are very strong.
If that’s the direction that Real head in – and Le10Sport are right about Liverpool’s interest – then the Reds surely have the upper hand on Soumare.
Liverpool could get a very talented 21-year-old in that case and that’s certainly reason for excitement.
