The rise and rise of Trent Alexander-Arnold has been a joy to behold for Kopites. The local lad has been smashing records since breaking into the Liverpool first team and he is showing no signs of slowing down. Alexander-Arnold is the best right back in the Premier League according to Glen Johnson.
Johnson arrived at Liverpool at the start of the 2009-10 season, brought in by Rafa Benitez. The ex-England international went on the play 200 times for the Reds. The Daily Express quizzed the former Red about his opinions on the league’s current crop of right sided defenders, Johnson responded:
“Trent Alexander-Arnold. By miles at the moment. Aaron Wan-Bissaka isn’t so much the modern full-back, he sometimes looks like a centre-half playing full-back. He’s a good defender but he’s not got the natural ability that Trent has got.”
What RTK has to say
The Reds couldn’t be luckier to have a talent such Trent at their disposal. Alexander-Arnold will be proud to hear of Glen Johnson giving him such high praise. The retired full back managed 54 caps for his country alongside his 200 appearances from Liverpool, he has some authority on the position.
With the Scouser in our team just 21-years-old and already the best right back in the league “by miles”, who knows what he can achieve in the game?
It is difficult to argue that there are any better than Trent in the world at the minute and the next couple of seasons should cement his supremacy. After all, he is like Kevin De Bruyne at right back.
