Trent Alexander-Arnold is the best right back in the world. The Scouser in our team is tearing up the rule book and expectations. From right back he has become Liverpool’s most creative player. At the weekend Trent put in another stellar display as Jürgen Klopp’s side beat Spurs 2-1. Speaking after the game, Gary Neville and Jamie Carragher were drooling over Trent Alexander-Arnold.

During the game, Trent overtook Kevin de Bruyne in the Premier League key passes chart. The Scouser now has 37 key passes in comparison to the Belgian’s 36. His full range of creative talents were on display throughout the game: whipping in delicious crosses for Sadio Mane and Virgil van Dijk to name but two and spraying cross field passes out to his mate Andy Robertson on the opposite flank.
After the game Gary Neville told Sky Sports, “Trent Alexander-Arnold is one of the best attacking right backs I’ve ever seen. If he improves some of his defensive play he will go down as one of the best”, adding, “he passes like a number 10”.
Former Liverpool centre back Jamie Carragher joined in with the praise saying, “it’s like having Kevin de Bruyne at right back”.
This is high praise indeed for the young lad and it is no surprise that Gary Neville is so impressed with Alexander-Arnold given that the former Man United defender knows the demands of playing right back. The Scouser has already made the shortlist for the Ballon d’Or, how much further could Trent go in the game if he was moved to centre midfield?
