Liverpool chasing superstar Brazilian winger to bolster attack

According to a report from CalcioMercato, Liverpool are back in the market for a winger. The Reds currently have a dearth of depth in attack, with no competition for the likes of Sadio Mane, Roberto Firmino and Mo Salah. The reports from Italy suggest that David Neres is top of Jürgen Klopp’s shopping list. If Liverpool sign David Neres it would be a major statement of intent from the Anfield side.

Ajax’s Brazilian winger announced himself on the European stage last season with a string of world beating performances as the Dutch side made it all the way to the semi-finals of the Champions League. Unfortunately for Neres, his Ajax side were knocked out of the competition in dramatic fashion. Lucas Moura broke Dutch hearts as he scored a second half hat-trick, the final goal coming in injury time, to send Spurs through in the most unlikely of circumstances.

Neres has shown that he can perform on the biggest stage as he scored twice and assisted twice during the Amsterdam side’s heroic Champions League campaign. The Brazilian also registered an impressive 8 goals and 8 assists in 20 league starts last season.

Should Liverpool sign Neres? If the money is right he could be a game changing addition for the Reds. He is versatile, full of flair and has an eye for goal. Jürgen Klopp is desperate for competition for his front 3 at the moment. As it stands, the Reds’ attacking trio are completely unchallenged for their place in the side, hopefully David Neres could keep our front line on their toes and score a few goals along the way.
