Jurgen Klopp and Arne Slot could meet for the first time since their respective Liverpool exits in the kind of twist which only football can serve up.
Klopp looks set to take on the Germany job two years after leaving the Reds, while Slot is a candidate for the Netherlands, who saw Ronald Koeman resign following their World Cup elimination.
It remains to be seen whether the recently sacked Liverpool head coach is keen to jump straight back into management, at international level no less, but if he does, he will set up a September date with the man he replaced at Anfield.

Klopp vs Slot could be on the cards in September
Although there has been no official announcement at the time of writing, it seems fairly certain that Klopp will take charge of Germany this summer.
The 59-year-old has had a two-year break from management, and the more serene workload of international football is likely to give him the work/life balance he was missing at Liverpool.
The Reds could get numerous benefits from seeing Klopp return, not least the job he could do with Florian Wirtz.
The upside of Slot joining the Netherlands will be less so, but it will still be fascinating to see how the 47-year-old fares with Virgil van Dijk, Ryan Gravenberch and Cody Gakpo and how he bounces back from a disappointing second season with the Reds.

There are seemingly other candidates for the Netherlands, but whoever does take charge will likely face Klopp in their first fixture.
The Netherlands vs Germany is set for Thursday, September 24th, during the first international window of the new season.
Slot was clearly planning to be taking charge of his third season with Liverpool and would ordinarily have been heading back to see his family during the break. Instead, he could be heading up a new era of Dutch football, against the man who famously chanted his name at Anfield in his last act before passing on the baton.
