Liverpool’s Premier League fixtures for the 2026/27 campaign have been released, with the Reds set to open away at Newcastle United.
St James’ Park was the venue for Liverpool‘s first away trip of 2025/26, and they will head North looking for what would be a big early three points for Andoni Iraola.
From there, the Reds have several more gentle looking fixtures in which Iraola can hopefully bed in his ideas and set out his stall early. But, obviously, it won’t all be smooth sailing for Liverpool, and in a four-week period in which they face all of Arsenal, Man United and Everton, the Basque’s credentials will be tested.
How many points are Liverpool getting from their first five Premier League fixtures of 26/27?
There's a good chance for 18 points before taking on Man City at Anfield 👀
Liverpool to face three rivals in four weeks
Although there are clearly plenty of possible banana skins along the way, Liverpool’s 26/27 fixture list actually looks relatively kind on first viewing.
There are not too many periods where the Reds are facing tough away fixtures consecutively, or indeed top-level opponents one week after another.
In fact, Liverpool do not face traditional ‘top six’ opposition in consecutive weeks throughout the whole campaign.

Nevertheless, the period from October 31st, Halloween, through to December the 5th does look slightly scary for Iraola.
The Reds are currently scheduled to face champions Arsenal at Anfield on the 31st, matchday nine, which could help them lay down a marker to Mikel Arteta’s team.
Liverpool then travel to play Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park seven days later, never an easy trip, before the October international break.
There will be no let up for the Reds upon their return, with a home clash with Man United following the break appearing slightly daunting. After facing their biggest rivals, Liverpool will then play neighbours Everton at the Hill Dickinson Stadium.
They’re back at Anfield against Sunderland a week later, before heading to Stamford Bridge for their first meeting with Xabi Alonso’s Chelsea. Whichever way you look at it, this will be a big period for Iraola.
Now the fixtures have been revealed, do you think Liverpool will win the Premier League in 26/27?
What are other key dates in the fixture list?
While a Premier League season will never be truly dictated by the fixture list, it can certainly have a big bearing on how a new coach settles in at a club.
For Iraola, he may be pleased to see a winnable first home match against Nottingham Forest – although Liverpool have lost to Forest at Anfield in each of the two last seasons – while his return to Bournemouth comes on matchday five.
Liverpool host the Cherries on the final day of the season in what fans will hope will be a poignant trophy lift for Iraola, while the traditional Boxing Day slot currently sees the Reds head to Hull.
The away clash with Arsenal is set for matchday 24, with a trip to the Etihad on matchday 35 potentially significant. Liverpool are at Old Trafford on matchday 22, with an Anfield Merseyside Derby sandwiched in between United and Arsenal.
It’s all to play for, but as Iraola begins his analysis of the season, he will be circling this period in October and November with a big red ring.
