What Rio Ngumoha’s brother apparently told Bayern Munich during transfer talks

Rio Ngumoha has just enjoyed a solid breakout season at Liverpool and is already attracting transfer interest from elsewhere.

The teenager was one of the very few bright sparks in the 2025/26 campaign for the Reds, and losing him would be a big blow.

Liverpool have no plans to sell Ngumoha, but his brother is rumoured to have spoken to Bayern Munich about a move and said the winger was interested in securing a transfer.

Barcola vs Diomande! Which Liverpool transfer target are you most excited to watch at the World Cup?

Are there any other Reds targets you think will shine this summer?

Rio Ngumoha’s brother suggested Liverpool player was open to joining Bayern Munich

According to Christian Falk of Bayern Insider, speaking on his YouTube channel: “Yes, Bayern Munich was concretely interested indeed.

“There are rumors that the brother of him who is doing some transfers for him was already in Munich at Säbener Straße for talks, for negotiations, and signalled that the player would be interested to go to Bayern Munich and that there will be no problems with the contract details and salary.”

However, while Bayern and the player seemed to be open to a move happening, Liverpool made their intentions very clear.

Falk continued: “But Bayern Munich get a very clear signal from Liverpool when they knocked at the door that there is no time to talk, no reason to talk.

“There will be no negotiations because they are so convinced about the player that the signal was we won’t sell him.

“So, you can’t offer for him anything. It won’t happen.”

How much would it take for Liverpool to decide Ngumoha should be sold?

Surely if the bid was big enough they'd have to at least think about it…

Liverpool fans will be wary of Trent Alexander-Arnold repeat

What, if anything, Ngumoha’s brother actually said to Bayern about a move is not 100% confirmed.

But Liverpool do have recent experience of family members acting as agents and securing transfers.

Trent Alexander-Arnold’s brother famously represents the right-back and ensured he was sold to Real Madrid last year.

Ngumoha is such a top talent and could be one of the best Premier League players if he stays, but fans are surely worried his agent/brother may try to secure a sale.
