Andoni Iraola has officially been appointed as Liverpool manager, and it is already clear he will help the youngsters a lot more than Arne Slot.
Richard Hughes and Michael Edwards wanted Iraola because of his track record of working with and developing younger stars.
Meanwhile, the new Liverpool manager has already spoken about working with academy players, which should be great news for Trey Nyoni and Kieran Morrison.

Trey Nyoni and Kieran Morrison will play a lot more under Andoni Iraola
During his time at the club, Arne Slot was called out for his use of academy players, but that should not be something Iraola has to worry about.
The Dutchman was very reluctant to start Rio Ngumoha in the Premier League despite his obvious talent, only really doing so at the very end of 2025/26 when Florian Wirtz, Alexander Isak, Hugo Ekitike and Mohamed Salah were all dealing with fitness issues.
Meanwhile, despite Liverpool lacking serious depth in midfield last season, Nyoni, who has impressed in his very brief time on the pitch as a senior player, was only afforded 21 minutes of league football last term.
It’s a similar story with Morrison, who scored 14 and assisted two in 18 Premier League 2 matches in 2025/26.
He never featured in the English top flight and notched less than 90 minutes of action in the Carabao Cup and FA Cup.
However, based on his history of developing youngsters, expect both Morrison and Nyoni to be much more heavily involved with the first team next season.
Not that it should really matter to fans, but their promotions would also save Liverpool millions on new signings in problem areas.
The Reds obviously still need a new right-winger to replace Mohamed Salah, but Morrison could easily become the backup option once Federico Chiesa goes.
Similarly, Nyoni stepping up would mean only one midfielder would need to be signed to replace Curtis Jones and or Wataru Endo.
