Ibrahima Konate is set to become the latest name to leave Liverpool during the summer of 2026.

Andoni Iraola is replacing Arne Slot and will arrive at the club during a period of great change.

Mohamed Salah and Andy Robertson’s exits have already been confirmed, and Konate has now admitted that he is ‘hurt’ by the Liverpool icons departing the club.

Ibrahima Konate hurt by Mohamed Salah and Andy Robertson leaving Liverpool

Speaking to France Inter, he admitted he is heartbroken by not playing with Salah and Robertson next season.

He said: “But it’s because we create a family, just like at Leipzig. And then at Liverpool, well, until the last match, I didn’t know I was going to leave, but just seeing Mohamed Salah and Robertson leave and telling myself, ‘Next year, I won’t be with them anymore,’ even that… It’s heartbreaking.

“Oh yes, the tears come on their own, because these are people who have mattered enormously in your life, in your journey, in your sporting success.

“And you tell yourself, ‘Actually, these people are going to continue with their lives, and you’re going to continue with yours.’ And the reality is, you might never see them again, and that’s heartbreaking, it really hurts. It’s very, very hard.”

But it is not just Salah and Robertson whom the centre-back won’t be playing alongside come 2026/27, as he too is leaving Liverpool.

A deal with Real Madrid has been agreed, with Konate expected to pen a four-year contract with Los Blancos.

Where will Mohamed Salah and Andy Robertson go after Liverpool?

Meanwhile, though the stopper’s future appears to be sorted, exactly where Salah will end up is not clear.

There is talk that after avoiding relegation in 2025/26, Tottenham Hotspur will land Robertson, though Juventus have been linked to the left-back as well.

Elsewhere, Salah commented on his future after the final game of the season and seemed to suggest a move will not happen until after the World Cup.

He stated: “I am still assessing things. I have time now.

“I am going to the World Cup and then everything will become clear. If there is a good opportunity before then, I will decide, and if there isn’t, I will make my decision after the World Cup.”
