Mohamed Salah brought his prolific Liverpool career to a close against Brentford on Sunday and must now decide where he will go next.

To date, the Saudi Pro League have been the most heavily linked with a move for the Egyptian, while there has been a suggestion that the MLS could be an option for the 33-year-old as well.

However, in a recent interview, Salah confirmed he’s yet to make a call on his future, and unless a good opportunity comes up soon, he will likely decide after the 2026 World Cup.

Which players should Liverpool target to replace Mohamed Salah this summer? 🤔

A seven-man shortlist has already been reported:

Mohamed Salah still hasn’t found a new club after Liverpool

Egypt’s World Cup will kick off on June 15 with a meeting against Belgium.

They then face New Zealand and Iran in their remaining group games, and on paper at least, have a decent chance of making it into the knockout rounds.

Regardless, with the World Cup just a couple of weeks away, Salah may still be without a club come the end of next month.

When asked about his future plans post-Liverpool, as per WinWin, he said: “I am still assessing things. I have time now.

“I am going to the World Cup and then everything will become clear. If there is a good opportunity before then, I will decide, and if there isn’t, I will make my decision after the World Cup.”

Why do you think Liverpool did not hand Mo a microphone during his Anfield farewell?

Surely he deserved the chance to say his piece!

Mohamed Salah surprised by Liverpool success

Salah also commented on his Liverpool career, admitting his surprise at how much he ended up achieving at Anfield.

The Reds had never won the Premier League before the winger’s arrival, but they are now two-time champions and have also added another Champions League to their trophy cabinet.

Reflecting on his Liverpool career, the former Chelsea forward stated: “Thank God I ended my career with Liverpool in this way. I achieved everything, I leave with people proud of what I did. I feel I put the team back, to a large extent, in the position it deserves among the greats, and that is the most important thing for me.”

“I expected things, but I didn’t expect to achieve everything with the team and on my own. I won almost all the championships. Today was very difficult for me psychologically, because it was my last match in a place where I lived for 9 years, where I lived the best days of my youth.”
