Liverpool are expected to sign another central defender in the summer transfer window now that Ibrahima Konate is not signing a new contract.
Konate could be on his way to PSG on a free transfer, which will leave a big hole in the Reds’ backline.
Liverpool have been linked with several centre-backs in the past few months who could come in to replace the Frenchman. But Marcos Senesi is not expected to be one of them anymore, as he is apparently joining Tottenham Hotspur instead.
Has Konate lived up to his potential, or does he leave having not quite reached it?

Liverpool target Marcos Senesi set to join Tottenham
Senesi has been linked to Liverpool this year, ahead of the Bournemouth stopper becoming a free agent this summer.
He would have added Premier League experience to a centre-back department which features young, unproven talents like Giovanni Leoni and Jeremy Jacquet.
However, taking to X/Twitter on Friday morning, Fabrizio Romano has claimed that Spurs have won the race for the South American.
He stated: “Marcos Senesi to Tottenham, here we go! Deal in place after the verbal agreement reported since March.
“Four-year contract for Senesi who’s set to put pen to paper soon and join #THFC as free agent. Another one after Robertson.”
Who could Liverpool sign to replace Ibrahima Konate?
Aside from Senesi, we have seen a couple more centre-backs mooted to make a move to Merseyside this summer.
Nico Schlotterbeck of Borussia Dortmund has been among the stoppers linked, and the Reds could get a deal done in the coming months despite the German signing a new contract with BVB.
Liverpool have until July 19 to activate Schlotterbeck’s release clause, but they could face competition from Spanish giants Real Madrid.
Inter Milan and Italy ace Alessandro Bastoni is another name who has been linked, but it remains to be seen what the future holds for the Italian, who was thought to have been keen on an FC Barcelona switch earlier this year.
