Former Liverpool player Jan Molby is expecting to see some ‘spectacular’ football if Andoni Iraola is hired to replace Arne Slot this summer.
Iraola has been named as the favourite to be appointed if the Reds decide to part ways with Slot, fuelling excitement amongst supporters who have enjoyed watching Bournemouth under the Basque.
And according to Molby, Iraola’s style of play could be a great fit for Liverpool if things work out that way.

Iraola has proven himself to be a top-level coach this season as he aims for Champions League qualification with Bournemouth.
In a Premier League which has become vastly more set-piece orientated, the Cherries have stood out as a team who are still willing to play high-press, all-action football.
That is something which has been sorely missing at Liverpool under Slot this term, with Molby urging the Reds to take a look at Iraola if the Dutchman is given his P45.
“This boy is special, and I cannot for my life work out how he’s decided to leave Bournemouth with the squad,” the Dane told Anfield Index.

“This is the best squad they’ve ever had. I don’t care what anyone says. This is the best squad they’ve ever had. They’ve got the best attacking players they’ve ever had.
“He looks like a special manager. I wouldn’t mind, you know, I wouldn’t mind seeing him at Anfield, because if it comes off the football will be spectacular.”
The one caveat here is that after two years of playing Slot’s slightly more sedate football, it may take Liverpool players a little while to get up to speed under Iraola.
Nevertheless, the 43-year-old looks like the closest thing to Jurgen Klopp in the world of football right now. Bournemouth are proof that this style of play can still be effective in the Premier League, and handed better players, superior facilities and a bigger budget at Liverpool, Iraola could bring the heavy metal back to Anfield.
