A new update has now emerged on Jayden Danns and Stefan Bajcetic, two of Liverpool’s most talented young players, but also two players who badly need a run of games next season.
Both have shown enough at different points to suggest they can be useful first-team options, yet neither has been able to stay fit for long enough at Anfield.
Liverpool supporters have barely seen Bajcetic over the last two years, while Danns has lost a huge chunk of momentum after an exciting breakthrough. As things stand, both are working towards pre-season, and the club’s plan has been explained in a new report.
Liverpool keep Arne Slot, Xabi Alonso goes to Chelsea. How would you react? 😄😡
Liverpool likely to send Stefan Bajcetic and Jayden Danns out on loan
According to James Pearce in The Athletic, the immediate priority for Bajcetic and Danns is simple. Both players need to be fit for pre-season training in July, and only then will they be able to make a proper case to Arne Slot.
Pearce adds that, given how much football they have missed, the ‘most likely outcome’ is that both are loaned out for the 2026/27 season. However, nothing is fixed at this stage.
Bajcetic is a classy defensive midfielder who once looked ready to become a serious part of the Liverpool first team. He is calm on the ball, intelligent in tight spaces and capable of playing as a No.6 or No.8.
But his development has been badly disrupted.

He spent time on loan at Red Bull Salzburg and Las Palmas last season, before requiring hamstring surgery. He was expected to return during the second half of this campaign, only to suffer another setback in his recovery.
Danns, meanwhile, is a natural centre-forward with proper penalty-box instinct. He made one brief senior appearance in the Carabao Cup against Southampton last September, but hamstring issues ruined his campaign. He played just four times for the under-21s in Premier League 2.

The Bajcetic call feels easier to understand.
Liverpool are expected to strengthen in midfield this summer, and after so long out, Bajcetic needs regular football more than he needs occasional minutes at Anfield.
With Danns, it feels like a mistake waiting to happen.
Liverpool are already short through the middle of the attack. Hugo Ekitike will miss a chunk of next season, and relying heavily on Alexander Isak, given his own fitness record, would carry obvious risk. If the Reds do not intend to sign another No.9, Danns could still have a role to play.
But first, he needs to stay fit. For both him and Bajcetic, pre-season is the focus. A decision like this will usually be made late in the summer.
