Arne Slot is surely going to try and bring Ajax sensation Mika Godts to Liverpool

20-year-old Mika Godts is next up for a high-profile move, and Arne Slot would be mad not to try bring him to Liverpool.

In his third season at Ajax, the Belgian has exploded onto the scene. He has 16 goals and 11 assists in 29 Eredivisie appearances, and another assist in the Champions League.

A left-sided attacker by trade, Godts has everything you might want from a modern attacker. He’s comfortably the best dribbler in the division, and his decision-making in the final third is incredible for his age. Slot will be well aware of his exploits, and he has to be considering a move.

Mika Godts would be an unbelievable signing for Liverpool

We know that Slot keeps a close eye on the Dutch league, so it’s safe to assume he has seen Godts’ emergence.

Liverpool have work to do in the wide areas, and this is a player who fits the system Slot is trying to develop.

He has already attracted attention from Arsenal and Chelsea, with TEAMtalk revealing both clubs have sent scouts to Amsterdam in recent weeks. That report lists a host of clubs who are looking at the young attacker, with Liverpool’s appreciation mentioned down at the end.

But the Reds should be right in the mix. This is a player who is already putting up superstar numbers in just his second season as an established first-team star.

If Liverpool weren’t already convinced by Godts, the goal he scored against NAC Breda will surely have swayed their opinion. The Eden Hazard comparisons make a lot of sense when you see how he slalomed through the heart of the opposing defence before taking the ball around the keeper and rolling into an empty net.

There’s also the defensive aspect. Godts is a brilliant presser and someone who is’t afraid to put in a tackle. He could restore that sharp edge to the front line that has been missing since Luis Diaz left Liverpool.

We know that Slot has a soft spot for his old league, and while he’s from Belgium, Godts would slide in seamlessly to the Dutch contingent at Anfield.

Interest in the Ajax sensation is spread all across Europe, and Liverpool would be foolish not to join the race.
